Privacy policy
This site is a free collection of aartis. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no comments. The only things you can submit are a custom book, a list of aartis in the order you choose, and a message through the contact form on the info page. This page explains the little data that is involved.
What is stored on your device
Your two reading preferences, light or dark mode and text size, are saved in your browser’s local storage so they survive between visits. They never leave your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
The site itself sets no cookies.
Hosting
The pages are static files served from Cloudflare’s network; custom book pages are generated on the same network from the stored order. Like every web host, the provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) for security and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to identify readers, and the site runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
Custom books
When you create a custom book we store the order of aartis you chose and the time it was made. That is not personal information.
If you also give the book a name, so that it gets its own web address, we ask for an email address so that only you can change the book later. The address itself is not stored: it is passed through a keyed one-way hash and only the result is kept. We cannot read your email address back from it and cannot share it. When you edit the book, the address you type is hashed the same way and compared with what was kept. If you want a named book removed, tell us (see the info page) and we will delete it together with the hash.
If you tick “Email me the link”, one message with the book’s address is sent to that email address straight away through Cloudflare Email Service. The address is used for that one message and is not kept by us; Cloudflare handles it to deliver the message under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The message comes from an address that is not read, and no other email is ever sent. To limit abuse, one such message per address per minute is accepted.
The create and edit forms, like the contact form, are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells real visitors from automated scripts. It sets no cookies on this site. Cloudflare processes connection details for that check, such as your IP address and browser characteristics, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Its script is loaded only when you start using a form.
Contact form
The form on the info page sends us a topic and your message. It reaches us as an email through Cloudflare Email Service and lands in our mailbox; nothing is stored on the site’s own server. We keep a message only as long as it takes to act on it. An email address is optional: give one only if you would like a reply. It is set as the reply address of that email and used for that alone, never shown, shared or added to any list. To limit abuse, the number of messages accepted from one internet address per minute is capped; the address is used for that count only and is not stored with the message.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
To cover hosting costs, one advertisement space at the bottom of each page is served by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info/choices.
- The ad code is loaded only when the ad space comes near your screen. If you never scroll to the bottom of a page, no request is made to Google.
We block ad categories that do not belong on a devotional site, including sexual and dating content, gambling, alcohol, astrology, politics, and ads that advocate for or against any religion. Google filters these on a best-effort basis. If an unsuitable ad slips through, tell us (see the info page) and we will block that advertiser.
How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland
Before any advertising cookie is set you are shown a consent message where you can accept, refuse, or choose each purpose and vendor individually. If you refuse, ads are still shown but they are not personalised.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages and asks for no personal information, apart from the optional email hash described above when someone names a custom book, and the optional reply address on the contact form.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when anything above changes; the date at the top is the last revision. For questions, use the contact form on the info page.
